Rock bolts are long anchor bolts for stabilizing rock excavations that may be used in tunnels or rock cuts.
Rock bolts work by knitting the rock mass together, transferring load from the unstable exterior to the confined interior of the rock mass. By doing so, rock bolts can prevent the rock mass from failing by unraveling or collapsing.
